Cagrilintide 10mg – Next-generation amylin receptor agonist
Cagrilintide – internationally usually referred to as Cagrilintide – is a long-acting acylated amylin analogue developed by Novo Nordisk and acts as a non-selective agonist at the amylin receptors (AMY1/2/3) as well as the calcitonin receptor (CTR). In the phase 3 clinical trial REDEFINE 1, the combination of Cagrilintide and Semaglutide (referred to in research as "CagriSema") achieved a weight reduction of at least 20% in 60% of participants.
This 10mg vial is suitable for research approaches concerning amylinergic signaling pathways and their interaction with GLP-1 receptor signaling pathways.
Mechanism of action
Amylin is physiologically co-secreted with insulin in the pancreas and acts on neurons in the area postrema of the brainstem, leading to reduced food intake and slowed gastric emptying. In REDEFINE 1, the mean weight loss after 68 weeks was 20.4 % opposite 3.0 % than placebo. In direct comparison, the combination showed stronger effects than Semaglutide alone (−14.9%) or Cagrilintide alone (−11.5%).

For a working concentration of 10 mg/ml, the 10 mg vial is reconstituted with 1 ml of sterile bacteriostatic water (BAC water). Slowly inject the water along the inside of the vial and gently swirl it instead of shaking.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Cagrilintide differ from GLP-1 receptor agonists like Semaglutide?
Cagrilintide acts via amylin and calcitonin receptors rather than the GLP-1 receptor. Research describes the combination of both mechanisms as synergistic — Semaglutide slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite, while Cagrilintide further enhances satiety via brainstem signaling pathways.
Is Cagrilintide often researched in combination with other peptides?
Yes — current research literature predominantly studies Cagrilintide together with Semaglutide (a GLP-1 receptor agonist) to assess additive or synergistic effects on satiety and metabolism.
Quality assurance
Each production batch undergoes independent dual testing: HPLC analysis to determine purity and LC-MS analysis to definitively verify molecular mass and correct peptide sequence. Only after passing this test is a batch released.
