Adamax 5mg – Adamantylated Semax analogue from neuropeptide research
Adamax is a synthetic designer peptide based on the well-known neuropeptide Semax Semax itself is a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4–7), extended by a stabilizing Pro-Gly-Pro sequence, and was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow. Adamax combines this Semax core with two additional modifications: an N-terminal acetyl group and a C-terminal adamantyl glycine motif known from the neurotrophic research peptide P021.
The adamantane unit – a compact, highly lipophilic carbon cage molecule – is an established building block in medicinal chemistry for increasing the enzymatic stability and membrane permeability of a molecule. This 5 mg vial is suitable for research approaches related to BDNF/TrkB signaling pathways, melanocortin receptor signaling, and the stability of modified neuropeptides.
Mechanism of action
The Semax core (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) binds to melanocortin receptors and, in animal models, leads to an upregulation of the neurotrophic factors BDNF and NGF, as well as their receptor TrkB, in the hippocampus – without containing the hormone-active ACTH core sequence. The adamantyl-glycine motif originates from P021, a peptide derived from ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), which has been investigated in preclinical studies for neurotrophic effects and improved stability. Adamax combines both approaches in a single molecule; however, independent peer-reviewed studies on Adamax itself are still scarce – research is primarily based on data from the two parent peptides.

Reconstitution: Example calculation
For a working concentration of 5 mg/ml, the 5 mg vial is diluted with 1 ml of sterile solution. NaCl solution 0.9% Reconstituted – better suited for subsequent intranasal application than bacteriostatic water (BAC water), whose benzyl alcohol content can irritate the nasal mucosa. Slowly inject the solution along the inner wall of the vial and gently swirl it instead of shaking.
Recommendation for intranasal use
Our product is suitable for intranasal application. Nasal spray pump atomizer (20ml/empty) – The empty amber glass bottle with pump sprayer allows for precise, hygienic dosing of the peptide solution reconstituted with NaCl solution.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Adamax differ from Semax?
Adamax contains the complete Semax sequence, but is additionally acetylated at the N-terminus and extended at the C-terminus by an adamantyl-glycine motif. Both modifications are intended to make the molecule more stable against enzymatic degradation and more lipophilic. We present the unmodified starting peptide as Semax 10mg.
What does the number "1032" on the label mean?
It represents a molecular weight of approximately 1032 Da. Peptides without an adamantane unit (approx. 984 Da) are sometimes offered on the market as "Adamax" – our Adamax contains the adamantyl modification that gives it its name.
Quality assurance
Each production batch undergoes independent dual testing: HPLC analysis to determine purity and LC-MS analysis to definitively verify molecular mass and correct peptide sequence. Only after passing this test is a batch released.
