DSIP 5mg – Sleep peptide from delta wave research
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a nine-amino-acid neuropeptide that was isolated in 1977 by Schoenenberger and Monnier from the venous cerebral blood of rabbits during electrically induced deep sleep. As one of the longest-known sleep peptides, it remains a reference substance in delta wave and sleep architecture research.
This 5mg vial is suitable for research approaches related to sleep architecture, GABAergic/serotonergic signaling pathways and the modulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.
Mechanism of action
In preclinical models, DSIP promotes the transition to deep sleep (non-REM delta sleep) without producing the immediate sedative effect of a classic sedative. Its mechanisms of action are thought to include the enhancement of GABAergic and serotonergic pathways, the attenuation of glutamatergic hyperexcitability, and the modulation of the HPA axis (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis). Additionally, an interaction with the endogenous opioid system (enkephalin modulation) has been described. Despite decades of research, the precise receptor mechanism remains unclear.

Reconstitution: Example calculation
For a working concentration of 5 mg/ml, the 5 mg vial is reconstituted with 1 ml of sterile bacteriostatic water (BAC water). Slowly inject the water along the inside of the vial and gently swirl it instead of shaking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DSIP work like a classic sleeping pill?
No. In research, DSIP does not have a sedative effect in the classical sense, but rather modulates sleep architecture and promotes the transition to the deep sleep phase (delta sleep).
Since when has DSIP been researched?
DSIP was first described by Schoenenberger and Monnier in 1977 and is therefore one of the longest studied neuropeptides in the field of sleep research.
Quality assurance
Each production batch undergoes independent dual testing: HPLC analysis to determine purity and LC-MS analysis to definitively verify molecular mass and correct peptide sequence. Only after passing this test is a batch released.
