Mechanisms of action of the individual components

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound) is a 15-amino acid fragment of a protein found in human gastric juice, discovered by a team led by Predrag Sikirić at the University of Zagreb. It is being investigated for its angiogenesis-promoting effects via the VEGFR2-Akt-eNOS signaling pathway, as well as for its upregulation of growth hormone receptors in tendon fibroblasts – primarily locally at the site of tissue damage.

TB-500 is the synthetic, N-acetylated active sequence (Ac-LKKTETQ, positions 17–23) of the body's own thymosin beta-4. Through binding to G-actin, it influences cell migration and is being investigated for its effects on endothelial cell differentiation, angiogenesis, keratinocyte migration, and collagen deposition – acting more systemically than locally.

The combination of both peptides is therefore of interest for research: BPC-157 stands for local angiogenesis and tendon healing, TB-500 for cell migration and systemic tissue repair.

Reconstitution: Example calculation

For a working concentration of 10 mg/ml (total blend), the 20 mg vial is reconstituted with 2 ml of sterile bacteriostatic water (BAC water). This results in a calculated concentration of 5 mg/ml each of BPC-157 and TB-500 per milliliter. Slowly inject the water along the inside of the vial and gently swirl it instead of shaking.
