What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide copper complex composed of the three amino acids glycine, histidine, and lysine, which coordinates a copper(II) ion (Cu²⁺). Biochemist Dr. Loren Pickart first isolated this molecule from human blood plasma in 1973, thus laying the foundation for over five decades of intensive research.
GHK-Cu is found in the human body in blood plasma, saliva, and urine. Plasma levels decrease significantly with age: from approximately 200 ng/ml at age 20 to about 80 ng/ml at age 60.
Scientific background
GHK-Cu is among the best-researched peptides in regenerative medicine. Current data analyses show that GHK-Cu modulates the expression of more than 4,000 human genes – including genes for collagen synthesis, wound healing, antioxidant defense, and inflammation regulation.
Main mechanisms of action (in vitro / in vivo, preclinical)
- Collagen & Elastin: Stimulation of fibroblast activity – studies show a doubling of collagen production in cell cultures as well as an increase in skin elasticity of up to 70% after 12 weeks.
- Wound healing: Activation of TGF-β signaling pathways, promotion of angiogenesis and fibroblast migration
- Genomic reprogramming: GHK-Cu can reset the gene expression profile of aged skin cells to patterns typical of younger cells.
- Antioxidant effect: Increased glutathione and ascorbic acid levels; inhibition of NF-κB
- Tissue remodeling: Activation of metalloproteinases (MMPs) for tissue repair and collagen remodeling

| CAS number | 89030-95-5 |
| purity | ≥ 98 % (HPLC-verified) |

Reconstitution: Example calculation
For a working concentration of 10 mg/ml, the 50 mg vial is reconstituted with 5 ml, and the 100 mg vial with 10 ml of sterile bacteriostatic water (BAC water). Slowly inject the water along the inside of the vial and gently swirl it instead of shaking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which package size is suitable for which purpose?
The 50 mg dose is suitable for compact test series, the 100 mg dose for more extensive studies with multiple measurement points without having to re-prepare the dose.
Is copper peptide more sensitive to storage than other peptides?
GHK-Cu, like other lyophilized peptides, should be stored long-term at -20°C; the copper bond itself does not additionally affect storage stability.
Quality assurance
Each production batch undergoes independent dual testing: HPLC analysis to determine purity and LC-MS analysis to definitively verify molecular mass and correct peptide sequence. Only after passing this test is a batch released.
